Evaluation: Reflections on my blog
When making my video profile I was pleased that I able to co-operate in a team, and do the work that my fellow team mates instructed me to do. We videoed each others video profiles, to do that we used a video camera. I wrote a script that was about two minutes long. The script spoke about my life in general. The locations that i used to film were the college canteen and oxford street. Most of the video was filmed in the canteen some was filmed in Oxford Street.
It was the first time that I had ever edited a video on the computer. We used adobe pro premier to edit the video. I was pleased that I learnt new techniques such as input and output; i was able to put those techniques into use. I was able to delete the long pauses that were in the video. This made the video shorter and more effective. I added an image. There was music playing in the background when I was talking about my hobbies. The image was there as well when i was talking about my secondary school.
I’m happy with the outcome of my video because I think that for my video it has come out better than I thought it would have. I am also happy that I have uploaded it to YouTube and have embedded it to my blog.
The feed back that I got from my friends was that it was good that I spoke about my personal life, it was also clear. But they also said that I could have used a few more locations. In my opinion I agree with them because if, I had used a few more locations it would have mad the video more interesting, rather than just seeing me in the canteen. The feed back was useful because i know where not to go wrong next time.
I am not happy that the back ground of the video because it’s only a boring white wall. If there was more location the back ground would look better. People would be more interested in watching the video. The technical difficulty that I had was that I wasn’t able to take the camera out of the college out of college hours, because I didn’t book the camera out early enough. So if was to do another project similar to this I would book the camera out earlier. I also had a technical fault with the camera not connecting to adobe pro premier; this is why I have some writing in the middle of the screen on my video. So next time won’t take out that camera because it doesn’t connect to the computer. But on the other hand when I went out to Oxford Street the weather was on my side so I was able to film. The equipment I used while editing were a fire wire, a camera, a S.D card and a pair earphones. I would make improvements on my next video and learn from my mistakes.
