hi my names sherina, welcome to my blog get to know me here. i'm a 16 year old nearly 17 years old, I've started at City of Westminster college. I'm a first year here so i'm still getting to know the place. I went to Quintin kynaston secndary school previously I did my GCSEs there, thoes were the best days of my life, because i got to enjoy my self with my friends. when i was younger i wanted to be a teacher, but as I grew up i relised that teachers are annoying. In my free time i enjoy listening to music such as RnB. I love all colours, but it depends on what shade of the colour it is. I’m very fussy in that way. Reading books and listening to music inspire me to write. I love numbers and maths, because you can work out puzzles and solve eqations. My sllep is very important I think about my bed very often,because with out my sleep I’m very cranky. My greatest achievment so far in life is getting an arward for being great at health and social care. And I hope to be getting more awards and certificates in the future. My favourite part of media is making billbords and adverts and watching how people get drawn in by them. In ten years time I hope to be working in the media industry or in the world of business or working in accounting or maybe both media and business combined together. To make this come true I have to work hard on my course, and go to university

Interactive Video

The definition of interactive media is when you are able to stop and pause media related possessions. An example of this is DVD players, computers, the internet, mobile phones, VHS’s this is because you are able to stop and pause these items while watching a movie or a clip on your mobile phone or the internet.  When using the interactive media there are a wide range of different genres, for example the news informs the public on world related issues. We use BBC bitesize for an educational purpose, we watch movies and shows on television that entertain us. Advertising is also another genre which is used in our daily lives while watching television and when were outside the home for example we have television adverts with in the home, we have adverts outside the home such as billboard, poster in magazines and also through the post. The categories that we have been looking at are viral, film trailer, user generator content and virtual tours.

I looked at a video called “NHS quit smoking advert 2008 jungle books” this advert was aimed at parents who smoke. It was done by a professional shooting. The purpose of the advert was to inform and persuade parents to quit smoking so their children would not smoke, this is because children who parents smoke are more likely to smoke than children who’s parents don’t smoke. The sound quality of the advert was good and the picturing quality was also good. This advert was found on the television and the internet. I also looked at a video called Frank cocaine television AD this advert is about a dog speaking to cocaine addicts about the side effects of cocaine and how far people would go to smuggle cocaine in. They cut the dog so they could smuggle cocaine in. This advert was targeted at young adults because they are more likely to get into drugs through peer pressure. This advert was shown on television and the internet. The purpose of the advert was to keep young people off drugs and to get help if you needed it. The video quality is good the sound is good and it is a professional production. This advert was on the internet and on television. Both adverts had a similar message by not smoking or taking drugs you will live a happier life though they were targeted at different age groups. They were both professional productions sound quality in both were good. The quit smoking advert was aimed at families and the Frank cocaine advert was aimed at young adults.

I looked at a video called Fat guy kit California girls on YouTube this guy sings the song but, he imitates the singer negatively. He makes parodies of the song. This is aimed at young people, and YouTube users. The platform used to show this video is the internet. The purpose of this video is to entertain people and make them laugh. The technical aspect of this is that the sound quality is good, but the video quality is a little distorted. I looked at a video called Beyonce if I were a boy (cover) this was about two young women sing the song well this was a positive video. The video is aimed at young people mostly girls it was a homemade video, found on You Tube. The purpose of this video was to entertain, and also to get to be known by the public. The technical aspect was that it was a homemade video and the video quality was alright. The sound quality was also alright. Both videos were homemade but called Fat guy kit California girls was made to make people laugh while Beyonce if I were a boy (cover) was made by the girls, so they could become known by public, They were both made to entertain. Fat guy kit California girls was made so people would laugh at celebrities. Both clips were aimed at young people.      

I looked at Google maps you type the destination of where you would like to go and it will show you the map. It has three types of views first one birds’ eye view second one satellite and final one a normal road map. This is targeted at people who are interested in travelling. The platform used to view this is the internet Google maps. The purpose of Google maps is the people who want to go travelling can look their destination up. The technical aspect of this is that Google maps have very clear images of their maps. I looked at Ben Sherman Savile Tour. You have a virtual tour around the store on the internet. This is aimed at people who purchase goods from Ben Sherman stores. This is found on the internet. The purpose of this is to show customers around the store and to attract new customers the technical aspect of this is that their is no sound, but the picture quality is brilliant. Neither of the two had sound added but both had excellent picture quality. In both you get to decide for example you tour around the store for your self, and in Google maps you get to decide on your destination.    

Toy story 3 official trailer it was a short preview of Toy story 3 with a few comedy moments added. The target audience to this are children. The purpose of this is so people get drawn in by the promo and go and watch the movie. This can be found on the internet or television. The technical aspect of is that it was professional shooting the video quality is brilliant and the sound is at good quality. Shrek forever after trailer is a short preview of Shrek forever after, briefly telling the audience about the film this is targeted at children. This clip can be found on the internet and the television. The purpose of the film is to get people interested and make then watch the movie. It was a professional shooting so the picture quality was good and so was the sound quality. Both trailers are animated and are aimed at children.  Both are professional shootings the sound quality was brilliant on both trailers. Both were found on the television and the internet. The purposes of both trailers were to make people go and watch the movie. 

In conclusion all of these films were shown on the internet or television they were all made to entertain us or to give us information or to give us help with our daily lives. Advertisements are there to either give us information or to sell us something. Film trailers are their to let us know what’s new to watch. Singers are around to entertain us. And in general programs such as Google maps are there to inform us.
